Thumbs down Frenzy + Holy Wrath = Double Damage?

Well I needed a totem axe and since I used to farm totems a lot I figured I'd just go get one instead of buying it. I never had really used Frenzy there because it wasn't really neccissary, but I brought it a long to speed things up.

I've killed hundreds of the Life pods that spawn around the Root Behemoths, their maximum damage for holy wrath is 29. When I took frenzy though, I was taking 59 from holy wrath! I thought frenzy was not supposed to work like this?

Maybe I'm wrong, but I recall reading somewhere that armor-ignoring damage (like holy wrath) is NOT doubled from modifiers like frenzy...

And no, I wasn't taking 59's from the Behemoths... I pull the life pods plenty enough out of their range. So am I mistaken, or is this a recent change/bug?

Frenzy's doubling damage effect has nothing to do with whether the damage ignores armor or not... you take damage from Holy Wrath, since it is holy damage, it goes through your armor, hits frenzy, and is doubled before reaching you. IDK where u read about it, ill do some minor testing to double check...

You are thinking of life stealing, such as Vampiric Gaze, Vampiric Touch... etc.

I guess the confusion must come from the -40AL penalty you get from using Healing Signet. -40AL doubles the damage you take from armour-checking damage, so it seems similar to the double damage you take from Frenzy.

As the poster above me said though, Frenzy doubles damage from armour-bypassing attacks as well, as it explicitly says "double damage" and not "-40AL" like the penalty on Healing Signet.

It's worth noting that you won't take double damage from a life steal under Frenzy. I'm not sure about sacrifices... has anyone tried Frenzy + Infuse Health or Frenzy + Illusion of Weakness?

I doubt life sacrifices trigger Frenzy because it is not damage.
